| Obituary: | Mrs. Virginia Harris Jefferys age 91 years a resident of 600 Brown Ave . in Belington departed this life 8:50am Friday Morning April 27th at the Home of her daughter Patty Harvey with whom she made her home for the past eight years. She was born August 18th 1915 at Akron Ohio a daughter of the late Minor and Corda Golden Harris. She was united in marriage to Neil S. Jefferys who preceded her in death on March 27th 1971. She is survived by her only child Patty Harvey of Belington, two brothers , Dickie G. and Harold L. Harris both of Belington, three grandsons, Jimmie Harvey and wife Trudy of Core, WV., Mike Harvey and wife Laura of Belington, Greg Harvey and wife Elizabeth of Cheat Lake. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren Jessica, Dylan, Sara, Madelyn, Cassandra, and Sadie Harvey. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by one brother Robert Harris, and her son in law Jim Harvey. Mrs. Jeffreys was a graduate of Alderson-Broaddus College in Philippi, and pursued graduate work from Fairmont State and WVU. She was a retired school teacher from the Barbour county School System after many years of teaching . She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Belington , was a member of the Retired Teacher Ass. Of Barbour County and was a fifty year member of the Belington Chapter #68 Order of Eastern Star were she served as past Worthy Matron. Friends will be received from the Talbott Funeral Home in Belington from 11am to 2pm on Sunday April 29th . Final rites will then be conducted at 2pm from the Talbott Chapel with the Rev. Downing Gregory officiating. Interment will follow in the Fraternal Cemetery near Belington. The family ask that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Mountain Hospice Crim Ave. Belington, WV. 26250.
