| Obituary: | Mr. Victor Ray Beam Sr. age 57 years a resident of Rt 1 in Belington departed this life early Wednesday morning April 18th 2007 at his camp in Barbour County. He had been in his usual health and death was sudden and unexpected. He was born September 29th 1949 at Buckhannon, WV., a son of the late Orville D. and Thelma E. Booth Beam. On October 28th 1969 he was united in marriage to the former Linda M. Talbott who survives at Rt. 1 in Belington. In addition to his wife he is survived by one son, Victor Ray “Junior” Beam of Beverly , one daughter Donna M. Dean of Buckhannon, for grandchildren Crystal and Travis Beam, and Mary Ann and Liz Dean. Also surviving are one sister Juanita Smith of Elkins, one uncle Virgil Tenney of Glenbernie MD., his mother-in-law Mildred Talbott of Belington and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother Lloyd Eugene Beam. Mr. Beam was a Veteran of the US Army serving during the Vietnam War from 1969-1971 in the 9th Infantry Div and before becoming disabled he was employed by Barbour Coal Co. as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Talbott United Methodist Church and a life long member of The Tygart Valley Post #3647 VFW in Elkins and was a member of the Disabled American Veteran. Friends will be received from the Talbott Funeral Home in Belington from 5-9pm on Sunday April 22, 2007 and on Monday until 1pm the funeral hour when services will be conducted from the funeral home parlor with Rev. Terry Cannon officiating. Interment will follow in the Talbott Cemetery near Belington where members of the American Legion Post #44 of Philippi will conduct full military rites. The Talbott Funeral Home in Belington is in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Victor Ray beam Sr. Condolences may be expressed to the family at talbottfuneralhome.com. |
