| Obituary: | Mrs. Jean Durrett Bunner age 88 years a resident of Rt. 2 the Old Morgantown Pike Rd. in Belington, WV departed this life 3:30 pm Monday June 28, 2010 at her residence. She had been in declining health for the past several months. She was born June 5, 1922 at Belington, WV a daughter of the late Oscar B. and Ocie Tallman Durrett. Mrs. Bunner was married Feb 17, 1943 at Baltimore, MD to Hubert Earnest “Hugh” Bunner who preceded her in death on July 28, 2000. Mrs. Bunner is survived by two sons Thomas Hugh Bunner and wife Karen of Jacksonville, FL, Hal Kent Bunner of Belington, five grandchildren Amber Marie Heeten, Sheena LeeAnn Nestor, Sarah Grace Ford, Hallie Elaine Bunner, Jonathan Robert Bunner, and two great grandchildren; Genesis Lynn Singleton, and Cameron Franklin Ford. She is also survived by two sisters June Ware and husband Leo of Belington, Pauline Loar and husband Bus of Belington. Several Nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sisters Dorothy A.Thacker and Mary Ware. Mrs. Bunner graduated from the Belington High School with the class of 1941 and also graduated from the Clarksburg Beauty Academy. Mrs. Bunner was a homemaker most of her adult life and was a member of the Concord United Methodist Church. She enjoyed being with her family, oil painting and designing floral arrangements. Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home 210 Brandenburg St. in Belington from 7 pm to 9 pm on Wednesday June 30, 2010 and again on Thursday from 8 am to 11:00 am the funeral hour when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Arden Beck officiating.Interment will follow in the Concord Cemetery near Belington. In lieu of flowers the family asks that expressions of sympathy be made in the form of contributions to the Haven of Hope Food Pantry P.O. Box 886, Philippi, WV 26416.
