| Obituary: | Mr. Hugh Edwards “Hughie” Finley age 39 years a resident of Rt. 1, Philippi, WV departed this life Monday February 8, 2010 at Rt. 4 Philippi, WV. He had been in his usual health and death was unexpected. On November 1st. 2002 Mr. Finley was united in marriage to the former Crystal Michelle Golden who survives at their home in Philippi. He was born October 27th, 1970 at Philippi, WV a son of John H. Finley of Marlinton, WV and Donna Kay and Adrian Burner of Philippi, WV. Mr. Finley is survived by two step children Courtney Brooke Harsh and Travis Wade Harsh both of Philippi. One sister Britney Finley of Marlinton, two step brothers Dean Burner of Ohio and Kevin Burner of Kentucky. He was also survived by numerous Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Ed and Hazel Lantz and his paternal grandparents John and Maryland Finley. Mr. Finley attended the schools in Barbour County and was a coal miner and a protestant by faith. Hughie enjoyed taxidermy work as a hobby, fishing, and was an avid hunter. He enjoyed nature and riding his 4wheeler. Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home 210 Brandenburg St. in Belington from 4 pm to 8 pm on Thursday February 11, 2010 and again on Friday from 8 am to 1 pm when final rites will then be conducted with the Pastor Doug Murray officiating. Interment will follow in the Barbour Memorial Cemetery near Belington. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to a trust fund at First Central Bank of Philippi to assist with final expenses.
