| Obituary: | Mr. Robert Carl “Bob” Donaldson age 80 years a resident of 205 Crim Ave. in Belington, WV departed this life Monday evening January 11, 2010 at his residence. He had been in declining health for quite some time. He was born November 16, 1929 in Barbour County, a son of the late Carl Cyrus “Tony” and Margaret Ellen Coontz Donaldson. Mr. Donaldson was married at the Asbury United Methodist Church in Belington by Rev. Arden Beck on December 29, 1951 to the former Joan Goode who resides at their home in Belington. Mr. Donaldson is survived by one daughter Jana Lee Ruf and husband Eric of Belington, and one granddaughter Anna Marie Ruf whom he dearly loved. Mr. Donaldson graduated from the Belington High School with the class of 1947 and graduated from Davis and Elkins College in 1951 with a degree in accounting. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church. Bob was employed by the West Virginia Department of Health as a health inspector and later with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation in Elkins as a counselor. He was the owner operator of Bob’s Small Engine Repair in Belington and was a former member of the Belington Volunteer Fire Department. Bob was a member of the Belington Masonic Lodge #125 –AF & AM, and the Philippi Order of the Eastern Star # 41. Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home 210 Brandenburg St. in Belington from 6 pm to 9 pm on Thursday January 14, 2010 and again on Friday from 8 am to 1 pm when final rites will then be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Arden Beck and Rev. Robert Baer Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Fraternal Cemetery near Belington. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Mt. Hospice 1401 Crim Ave. Belington, WV 26250. The Talbott Funeral Home in Belington is in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Robert Carl “Bob” Donaldson.
