| Obituary: | Mr. Edward George Gatehouse Sr. age 71 years a resident Nathan St. Elkins, WV. departed this life 4:54 pm Tuesday May 5th 2009 in the Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown, WV. He had been in declining health for quite sometime. He was born September 1st, 1937 at Brooklyn, New York a son of the late Henry John and Marjorie Clouter Gatehouse. He was united in marriage to Frances Mae Fuller on October 15, 1960 who survives at their residence in Elkins, WV. Children surviving include two daughters Doreen Wasson and husband William of Elkins, WV, Lenore Makson and husband Robert of Staten Island, New York, two sons Edward Gatehouse Jr. and wife Alecia of Elkins, WV, James Gatehouse and wife Christine of Cairo, New York. Grandchildren surviving include Kaci and Cody Gatehouse, Amanda and Billy Wasson Jr., Heather and Darren Gatehouse Jr. and Matthew Gatehouse. Surviving siblings include one brother Woodrow Gatehouse of New York. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son Darren Gatehouse and one brother Henry Gatehouse. Mr. Gatehouse attended the schools of New York and was formerly employed by the New York City Housing Authority as a Boiler Room Operator. He was a protestant by faith and was a veteran of the Unites States Army. Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home 210 Brandenburg Street in Belington from 5 - 7pm on Saturday May 9, 2009 and cremation will follow. The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to your favorite charity in Memory of Mr. Gatehouse.
