He was born Jan 13, 1943 in Baltimore, MD a son of the late Kent Taylor and Elizabeth Amanda Corley Evans. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother Thomas Evans.

On May 24, 1963 he was united in marriage to the former Teresa Faesenmeier who survives at their home near Belington.

In addition to his wife he left three children who follow in his devotion to Christ, Robert Taylor Evans Jr. and wife Shannon of Callaway, Maryland, Eric Duane Evans and wife Melissa of Smyrna, Delaware, one daughter Diane Poling and husband Rick of Philippi, WV; four grandchildren Josiah Poling, Sarah Poling, Rachael Evans and Luke Evans. Additional survivors include one brother Bruce Evans of Philippi, WV, five sisters Jane Ann Weese of Philippi, Judy Marsh and husband Kenny of Belington, Mary Ann Lake of Hillsboro, Ohio, Effie Chapman of Philippi, Janet Auvil and husband Eugene of Wilmington, North Carolina, and one sister in law Marcella Evans of Ohio.

Bob enjoyed traveling with family, photography, hunting and contributed a great deal of his time to World Vision after retirement from Grafton Homes where he worked as a drywall Mechanic. He was a kind and generous man to everyone in need and served as a deacon at Light of Christ Chapel where he was a faithful member. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends and anyone who knew him. We believe he is now rejoicing with his Heavenly Father. His family dearly loved him and his legacy will live on in us.
