Talbott Licensee in charge Funeral Director and Embalmer Mrs. Ida Lourena Poling Fridley age 85 years a resident of 106 S. Sturmer Street in Belington departed this life on Thursday afternoon December 4, 2008 at the Mansfield Place in Philippi following an extended illness. She was born March 17, 1923 at Belington, WV a daughter of the late Thomas J. and Bedie P. Poling. On September 13, 1947 was united in marriage to J. Calvin Fridley who survives at their home in Belington. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters Rosie Dadisman and Elsie Dadisman. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Fridley is survived by one son Jim Fridley and wife Sherri of Philippi and one daughter Hilda Casey of Greensboro North Carolina. Mrs. Fridley was a homemaker and attended the Light of Christ Chapel in Belington. She was a member of the church choir and was active in church ministry, outreach and friendship through her many phone contacts and the church prayer chain. Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home, 210 N. Brandenburg St in Belington on Saturday December 6th from 6 pm to 9 pm and December 7th until 2:00 pm the funeral hour when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jimmie E. Tallman and Rev. Destry Daniels officiating. Interment will follow in the Barbour Memorial Cemetery near Belington. The family would appreciate memorial contributions be made in Ida’s memory to Mt. Hospice, 1600 Crim Ave, Belington, WV 26250. Condolences may be expressed to the family at talbottfuneralhome.com.
