| Obituary: | .Mr. Dayton “John “ Farley Jr. age 67 years a resident of Rt 4 Philippi, WV., departed this life Friday afternoon November 21st 2008 at his home. He had been in declining health for the past year. He was born July 31st 1941 at Newport News Va., a son of the late Dayton Sr. and Rella Mae Simmons Farley. He was twice married . First to Dorothy Overton who survives and second to the former Virginia Marie Vaclavik whom he married on September 16th 1969 who survives at their home. Children surviving include, David Farley of Arizona, Lisa Pharis of Buckhannon, Christopher Farley of Buckhannon, Becky Scott of Beltsville Md., and Jamie Lynn Farley of Philippi. Children preceding him in death include Thomas Edward Farley, Erin Marie Farley, and Robert Sean Farley. Fifteen grandchildren also survive and the birth of one great grandchild is expected next year. Surviving siblings include Denver Farley of Virginia, Mary Flood of New York, William Farley of N. Carolina , Martha Gastor of N. Carolina, Judy Cole of Belington, and Bridget Sue Walker of Philippi. Siblings preceding him death include three brothers and two sisters. Mr. Farley was employed by the Huffman Construction Corporation before he retired as a general superintendent. He was a graduate of the Philippi, High School had served in the United States Marine Corps. He enjoyed working in his shop where he had a welding business and also enjoyed building furniture and writing poetry. He was an avid Hunter. At the request of the deceased his remains were cremated. The Family ask that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society 122 South High Street Morgantown , WV. 26501. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.talbottfuneralhome.com.
