| Obituary: | Mrs. Margaret Bernice Barlow Gum age 71 years a resident of RR 1 Belington departed this life 10:35am Thursday October 16, 2008 at her residence. She had been in declining health for quite some time. She was born March 29, 1937 in Valley Bend WV in Randolph County the daughter of the late Alfred and Bernice Barlow. In 1956 she was married to Don W. Gum who resides at their home in Belington. She is survived by one son Michael R. Gum of Hazel Park MI, three daughters Susan D. Gum of Valley Bend, Sherry Marstiller of Belington and Brenda K. Gum of Belington. She is also survived by three sisters Nora Healey and her husband Wilbur of Elkins, Joann Akers of Montrose, and Bev Keefer of Norton, four brothers David Barlow and Charles Barlow of Montrose, Allen Barlow and wife Carol of Elkins, James Barlow and wife Jeanie of Montrose and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two sons Gary A. Barlow and David P. Gum, one daughter Carol A. Gum and one sister Barbara McCauley. Mrs. Gum attended the schools of Randolph County and attended the Refuge Church of Kerens. Margaret was a homemaker, and will be greatly missed by all. Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home 210 Brandenburg St. in Belington on Sunday October 19, 2008 from 11am to 2 pm the funeral hour when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Kevin Gainer officiating. Cremation will then follow. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the St. Joseph Hospice Attention Eileen Bennett 1 Amalia Dr., Buckhannon, WV. 26201.
