| Obituary: | Mr. Robert Lee Herron Sr. Age 64 years a resident of Rt 2 Belington, departed this life in the United Hospital Center at Clarksburg 7:34 am Thursday June 26th 2008 following a two month period of declining health. He was born October 3rd 1943 at Parsons a son of the late Sherwood “Dick” and Darlene Golden Herron. He was twice married. His first wife was the former Glenna Jo Biller whom he married on August 16th 1962 and she preceded him in death on May 19th 1983. Second he was married on March 5th, 1984 to the former Linda D. Sinsel who survives at their home. In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Robert L. Herron Jr. of Philippi, Danny Herron and wife Dawn of Philippi, four daughters, Tracee Brantner and husband Luke of Richmond Va., Tina Boyett and husband Dan of Akron Oh., Michelle Alt and husband Chuck, of Belington., and Crystal Dawn Herron of Belington. Also surviving are two sisters Mary Frances Sinsel, of Mogador Oh., Helen Simmons, of Bridgewater Va., nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren , two great-grandchildren and his two favorite dogs Susie and Shadow.. In addtion to his parents and first wife he was preceded in death by one brother Sherwood Herron Jr. Mr. Herron attended the schools of Barbour County and was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist church in Belington. He was a Thirty two year employee of the Kingsford Charcoal Plant in Parsons from which he retired in 2006 as a Maintenance Mechanic. Mr. Herron had a love for Traveling and camping. He enjoyed building and making things with his hands and these things he will be greatly remembered for. Friends will be received from 6-9pm on Saturday June 28th 2008 at the Talbott Funeral Home in Belington and on Sunday until 1pm the funeral hour when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Pastor David Shelton officiating. Interment will follow in the Fraternal Cemetery near Belington. The Family ask that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Cornerstone Baptist Church Building Fund P.O.Box 564 Belington, WV. 26250.
