| Obituary: | Mrs. Willa Mae “Shorty” Bibey age 77 years a resident of the Laurel View Apts in Belington departed this life early Saturday Morning April 26th 2008 in the Barbour County Good Samaritan Center . She was born July 26th 1930 at Cassidy a daughter of the late Willie “Bill” and Gladys Mae Cutright Rutherford. She is survived by two sons Roger N. Bibey and wife Diana of Belington, James S. “Jim” Bibey and wife Kelly of Elkins, one daughter Barbara K. Isner and husband Phil of Elkins. Additional survivers are one half-brother Carl Elmore and wife Carolyn of Jimtown, half-sisters Rosa Lee Miller and husband Howard of Mabie, Katherine Howes and husband Alfred, of Philippi, Wilma Jean Merritt of Beverly, and Joyce Bender and husband Tom of Kingsville. Eight grandchildren suriving are Brian Bibey and wife Julie; Rochelle Carpenter and husband Jamie, Angela Bibey, Justin Bibey, Emily Bibey, Mathew Barr and wife Becca, Christopher Barr, and Candace Thomas and husband Kris. Also surviving are nine great grandchildren Paige and Gage Bibey, Cori, Maddie, McKenzie, and Averi Carpenter, Amanda Sell, Noah Marsh, and Bryce Taylor, one great-great grandchild, Hannah Rose Cole and three step grandchildren, Travis Michetti, Jill Cope and husband Russ, and Phil S. Isner. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one half sister Shirley Bodkins, a step father Fred Elmore, two half brothers Ray and Robert Elmore and her former husband Kenneth Bibey. Mrs. Bibey attended the schools of Randolph County and had worked for different Restuarants in Belington including Yeager’s, Linda’s, Bucklew’s, and had been employed by the Reidboard Brothers . At the time of her retirement she was employed by the Barbour County Emergency Squad and during her retirement she was employed by taking care of the elderly in their homes. Mrs. Bibey was a member of the Stringtown United Methodist Church and was a member of the Ladies Auxillary of the Laurel Mountain Post 410 V.F.W. Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home, 210 Brandenburg St in Belington from 6-9 pm on Tuesday, April 29, and on Wednesday until 2 pm the funeral hour when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Leon Heavner officiating. Interment will follow in the Stringtown Cemetery near Belington. The family ask in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Hospice, Crim Ave, Belington, WV 26250. Condolences may be expressed to the family at talbottfuneralhome.com.
