| Obituary: | Mrs. Maude C. Harris age 87 years a resident of 506 River Road in Belington, departed this life Saturday, April 5, 2008 at her home. She had been in her usual health and death was unexpected. She was born May 11, 1920 near Belington a daughter of the late Henry and Mary Etta Wolfe Harris. Mrs. Harris is survived by one son David Harris of Belington, two brothers, Eugene Harris and Herman Harris, one sister Alma Ware all of Belington, five grandchildren, Paulette Sandridge and husband Ricky of Belington, Paula McGee and husband Tim of Belington, Pauline Williams and husband Steve of Grafton, Eric Harris and wife Kathy of Elkins, and Kelli Thomason and husband Michael of Belington. Also surviving a former daughter in law Norma Golden, twelve great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Paul Corley, Sr. and her second husband, Elwood M. Harris . Also preceding her in death are one son, Paul P. Corley, Jr., four brothers Lefty, Clifford, George, and Richard Harris, five sisters, Bessie Delauder, Minnie Wilson, Mildred McCauley, Mary Farris, and Betty Daugherty. Mrs. Harris attended the schools of Barbour County, and her life’s ambition was to be a caregiver to the elderly in which she fulfilled for over 40 years. She formerly attended the First Baptist Church of Belington and was a homemaker. Graveside services will be conducted from the Valley Bend Cemetery near Belington on Monday, April 7th at 1:00pm with the Rev. F.L. “Wink” McQuain officiating. A memorial service will then follow at 2pm at the First Baptist Church in Belington. The Talbott Funeral Home of Belington is in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Maude C. Harris.
