Obituary: Mrs. Texie M. Findley Logan age 94 years a former resident of Rt. 2 Belington and more recently a resident of the Mansfield Place in Philippi departed this life 12pm noon on Sunday March 16th 2008 at the care facility.

She was born November 13th, 1913 in Barbour County, the daughter of late Charles L. and Melvina Maude Findley. On, April 18, 1953 at Oakland Maryland, She was united in marriage to the late Roy A. Logan who preceded her in death on May 26th, 1988.

Surviving are one brother Hartzel “Doc” Findley of Belington, one nephew Richard Findley, five nieces Loretta Turner, Pat Booth, Louise McCauley, Eleanor Biller and Sandy Findley. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by four brothers, Hugh, Guy, Russell, and Clyde Findley and one niece Texie Elba Findley.

Mrs. Findley attended the schools of Barbour County and was a lifelong member of the Valley Bend Baptist Church where she held the office of church treasurer for numerous years. Her Church service meant a great deal to her and was a devout Christian. She was a nurse’s aid at Broaddus Hospital for over twenty five years and during WWII she was very active in the Red Cross. She was a long time member of the Hilltoppers Home maker’s club and was also a homemaker.

Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home in Belington from 5-9pm on Tuesday March 18th 2008 .On Wednesday morning Mrs. Logan will be moved to the Valley Bend Baptist Church where friends may call from 10-11am the funeral hour when final rites will be conducted with the Pastor Glenn Lowe, and the Pastor Leon Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Fraternal Cemetery near Belington. Condolences may be made to the family at talbottfuneralhome.com. I met Roy and Texie at the clinic and they became not only patients but good friends, I was very say when Roy passed then alot of illness came my way and I sort of loss touch with Texie, she was the sweetest lady they both made quite a stay in my young life (then)and it has stayed with me she will be missed very much. but I know she is in a better place and now with Roy again.
