| Obituary: | Mr. Earl Marion Flanagan age 69 years a resident of Hetzel Ave. in Belington departed this life early Thursday morning March 13th 2008 at the home of his sister Lucille Spencer following heart surgery. He was born February 23rd, 1939 in the Lantz Community he was a son of late Clarence Lee and Rosie Hamilton Flanagan . On November 15th 1975 at Parsons, WV. He was united in marriage to the former Betty Lucille Poling who preceded him in death on April 9th 2002. Surviving are two daughters Cathy Flanagan of Belington, Sue Skidmore and husband Scott of Belington, one step daughter Nancy Curkendall and husband Charlie of Belington one step-son Phillip Poling and wife Jennifer of Belington. Siblings surviving include four sisters Lucille Spencer of Junior, Louise Esposito of Belington, Betty Spencer of Buckhannon, and Mae Chapman of Melbourne, Florida. Brothers surviving are , Ray Flanagan of Belington, Bud Flanagan of Belington, Paul Flanagan of the Kingsville Community. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Tristan Skidmore, Connar Flanagan, Jenna and Gunnar Poling, and Logan and Ian Smithson. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Mr. Flanagan was preceded in death by two grandsons, Gary Michael Skidmore, and Jacob Flanagan, , four brothers, Stanley Flanagan, Amos Flanagan, Roger Flanagan, and June Flanagan and one sister Helen Flanagan. Before becoming disabled Mr. Flanagan was employed by Coastal Lumber and attended the Stringtown United Methodist Church. Friends will be received at the Talbott funeral Home in Belington from 6-9pm on Sunday March 16th 2008 and on Monday until 11am the funeral hour when services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Destry Daniels and the Pastor David Shelton officiating. Interment will follow in the Fraternal Cemetery near Belington. Condolences may be sent to the family at talbottfuneralhome.com.
