Talbott Licensee in charge Funeral Director and Embalmer Mrs. Margaret Alice “Susie” Day age 84 years of resident of 714 Brown Ave in Belington departed this life at 11:15 pm on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at her home. She had been in declining health. She was born February 11, 1924 at Philippi a daughter of the late Frank D. and Minnie Talbott Woodford. On March 10, 1955 at Elkins, she was united in marriage to Norman L. Day who survives at their home in Belington. Additional survivors are one daughter, Donna Coleman and husband Chris of Belington, one son Mark Allan Day of Salem; and two step-grandchildren Mark and Chris Coleman and their families. Also surviving are her special care givers, Effie Chapman, Donna Jones, Yvonnia Tallman, and Mary Lou Cross. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son Michael Lewis Day, one brother, Fred Woodford, and three sisters, Eleanor Menear, Katherine Watson and Mary Francis Woodford. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Susie was a graduate of the Philippi High School with the class of 1943. She was a member of the Philippi Chapter #41 Order of the Eastern Star, was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Women and helped for many years to cook for the Belington Kiwanis Club’s weekly meeting. She assisted the Kiwanis Club with their Concession Stand was very involved with the Belington Fair when it was sponsored by the Belington Kiwanis Club. Susie loved the game of bridge and in her former years she belonged to two bridge clubs in the community. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home, 210 Brandenburg St in Belington from 5 -9 pm on Sunday, February 24 and on Monday until 1 pm the funeral hour when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Arden Beck and Rev. Robert Baer, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Fraternal Cemetery in Belington.
