Funeral Director and Embalmer Mrs. Okarita Moore Auvil Glenn age 79 years a resident of Rt 2 Belington went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday evening, December 5, 2007 in the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown following a month long illness. She was born July 2, 1928 at Belington a daughter of the late Bertsell Moore and Icy Robinson Lambert Moore. She was twice married, first to Butch Auvil who preceded her in death. On September 13, 1953 she was united in marriage to George Glenn who preceded her in death on November 6, 1982. Mrs. Glenn is survived by one daughter, Lynda Auvil Ware of Morgantown, two grandchildren, Kimberly Corley and Thomas B. Ware, four great grandchildren; Lacrisha Corley, Karita Kennedy, Allison Kennedy, and Anthony Ware all of Belington, and two great-great grandchildren; Tyler Wheatherholtz, and Luca Mullens both of Belington. Also surviving are one sister, Lorada Gulick of Dearborn, Michigan, one brother, Gary Lambert of Summerfield, FL and one half-brother, Lonnie Moore of Belington, and life-long friends Shirley Irvin, Patty Phillips, Louise Moore, all of Belington, Lillian Poling, Rev. Al and Joan Falls of Ft. Myers FL., and Mickey and Morise Bardoff of California. She was preceded in death by one brother, Forest “Dick” Moore and two sisters, Flossie A. Woodside and Freda A. Bleckie. Mrs. Glenn attended the schools of Barbour County, owned and operated Okarita’s Clothes Line in Belington. She was a life-long member of the Belington VFW Ladies Auxiliary and a life-long member of the Moose Lodge of Clarksburg and the Elks Club of Elkins. She attended the Sugar Creek United Methodist Church. She will be greatly missed by her daughter and family. Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home in Belington from 5 to 9 pm on Friday December 7th and on Saturday, December 8th from 9 am to 9 pm. Then on Sunday, December 9th she will be moved to the Sugar Creek United Methodist Church where she will lie in state 1 to 2 pm the funeral hour when final rites will be conducted from the church with the Rev. Arden Beck and Rev. Destry Daniels officiating. Interment will follow in the Sugar Creek Cemetery. The family ask that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Sugar Creek United Methodist Church, RR 2 Box 306 Belington, WV 26250. The Talbott Funeral Home in Belington is in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Okarita Moore Auvil Glenn. Condolences may be expressed to the family at talbottfuneralhome.com. |

My first thought upon hearing was now I will never get to see her again.....the last time we were down, we did not stop to visit with her. Lori [2007-12-07 07:54:39] I am so sorry to read of her passing. My mother , who passed three years ago, was a school friend of Okarita and always spoke of her fondly. This is why I remembered her when I read the bad news, and this is why I leave tribute to her today. My deepest sympathy to her family and friends, I know she will be missed, and we will see them again. |
