| Obituary: | Mr. Clifford Wesley Fallen age 77 years a resident of the Audra Road, Belington departed this life Wednesday afternoon, October 17, 2007 at his home after a very long illness. He was born July 4, 1930 at his home in Upshur Co, the fourth child of the late Martin Edward Fallen and Geneva Crites Fallen. On February 22, 1952 he was united in marriage to the former Ruby Tallman a daughter of the late Herb and Beulah Tallman of Belington. Mrs. Fallen survives at their home on the Audra Road near Belington. In addition to his wife, Mr. Fallen is survived by one brother James Fallen of Ravenswood, WV, five sisters, Mary Suder of Belington, Juanita Mustain of Rockville, VA, Marjorie Hickman, Dorothy Zirkle and Anna Mae Baxa, all of Buckhannon, two sisters-in-law, “Short” Suder of Belington, and Pauline Pharis of Elkins. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Delworth and Robert Fallen. He attended the schools of Upshur County. He served in the US Marine Corp. from a 1951 to 1953 at which time he married the love of his life Ruby Tallman. After his tour of duty, Mr. & Mrs. Fallen lived in Cleveland, OH for eleven years and worked in the area. In 1962, they returned to WV. On January 1, 1963 Mr. Fallen and his brother James opened the Dunbar Retreading Service Inc. in Dunbar, WV. In June 1974 they sold the business and Mr. Fallen worked for Gaston Grocery, Inc. in Buckhannon, but tires never left his blood. He went back into the business with Bob Carpenter and operated Junior Tire in Junior. After failing health he had to sell his business. From this time on Mr. Fallen had suffered for many years with a heart condition and other health problems. Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home 210 Brandenburg Street. in Belington from 5 to 9 pm on Friday, October19thand on Saturday, until 11 am the funeral hour when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Destry Daniels officiating. Interment will then follow in the Fraternal Cemetery at Belington where the presentation of the American Flag will be accorded by American Legion Post #44 of Philippi. The family ask in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Grace Chapel United Methodist Church c/o Katherine White, RR 1 Box 33A, Belington, WV 26250.
