| Obituary: | Talbott Funeral Home 210 Brandenburg Street-P.O.Box 879 Belington, WV. 26250 304-823-1401 Mrs. Mona Adeline Hymes Mace age 86 years a resident of Coalton departed this life at 2:05a.m., Friday, October 5th, 2007 at the home of her daughter, Trudy Mahanes of Jimtown Community following an extended illness. She was born June 2, 1921 at Dartmoore, WV. a daughter of the late Porter Goff Hymes, Sr. and the former Margarite Bunner. On November 10, 1939 she was united in marriage to Charles Davis Mace, Sr. who preceded her in death on April 13, 2002. Surviving are three daughters, Joan Riffle of the Jimtown Community, Gail Sandella of Ashtabula, OH, and Trudy Mahanes of the Jimtown Community with home she made her home with for the past several weeks; two sons Charles Davis Mace, Jr. and Carl “Lenny” Mace both of the Jimtown Community; and one sister Betty Hymes of Elkins. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son Gerald Grant Mace, two brothers Porter Goff Hymes, Jr. and Grant Hymes, two sisters Madeline Hope Pomp, and Norma Jean Slayton, two grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Mace attended the schools of Barbour County and was employed as a housekeeping supervisor for The Autumn Rendezvous Nursing Home in Geneva, OH from which she retired. She formerly attended the Presbyterian Church of Coalton. Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home in Belington from 4 - 9 pm on Sunday, October 7th, 2007 and on Monday until 11 am the funeral hour when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Doyle Neil Rider officiating. Interment will then follow in the Phillips Chapel Cemetery at Jimtown. The Talbott Funeral Home in Belington is in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Mona Adeline Hymes Mace. Condolences may be expressed to the family at talbottfuneralhome.com. |
