Welcome to The Talbott Funeral Home. We are located at 210 Brandenburg Street in Belington, WV. We are locally owned and operated. This funeral home began in 1936 when Julius B. “Jule” Runner established The Runner Funeral Home. It remained The Runner Funeral Home until 1977, at which time The facility was purchased by the late Ira J. Tomblyn who along with his sons who ran the funeral home as Runner-Tomblyn & Sons. Then in 1985 the funeral home was sold to the late Boyd Fitzgerald. Mr. Fitzgerald was owner operator of the funeral home until his death in 1992. At which time the daughter of Mr. Fitzgerald operated it until March 6, 1993 at which time the funeral home was purchased by the current owner Michael W. Talbott a Belington native. Mr. Talbott and his wife Charlene and daughter Taylor reside in the living quarters above the early 1900’s structure. The original structure was built circa 1917 by a Lumber Barron by the name of J. W. Thornhill.

Our mission as a funeral home is to provide to families compassionate and caring service in a warm and comfortable atmosphere. All this is tied into affordable pricing along with various options of service and merchandise that will fit your wishes and ability to afford. We are locally owned and operated and have a great sense of community and consider it a great honor and privilege when a family calls on us to serve them in a very trying time. We also specialize in bank trust funded preneeds which allows you as an individual to insure that your needs and desires are carried out at the time of your passing.
Meet Our Staff
Michael W. Talbott (pictured with his daughter Tayler and wife Charlene Talbott) is the owner and Licensed Funeral Director of the Talbott funeral Home. Mr. Talbott is a native of Belington, West Virginia and is a 1990 Graduate of the Philip Barbour High School. Also has attended The Potomac State College in Keyser, WV, and also attended The Fairmont State College in Fairmont, WV. Mr. Talbott also is a graduate of The Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, and is very involved in the Belington Community. Mr. Talbott serves on the Board of directors at the Belington Medical Clinic is Past President and Secretary of the Belington Kiwanis Club and also is a member of Barbour County Chamber of Commerce. He is long time member of the Asbury United Methodist Church where he has served on various committees as presently serves as Lay Speaker for the Congregation.
Mr. Jimmie E. Tallman, Funeral Service Attendant. Mr. Tallman joined the funeral home staff in 1997 and assists in all funeral services and he is also the pastor at the Light of Christ chapel here in Belington, WV., and is married to Mrs. Sheila Tallman.
Mrs. Tonia L. Turner (not pictured) joined the funeral home staff in May of 2005. She is the funeral homes receptionist and office assistant. She resides in the Trinity Community and in August of 1999 she married David M. Turner who is a Belington Native.
